I recently had the pleasure of visiting Brunton Park, the historic home of Carlisle United Football Club, and the experience left me impressed.
One of the most notable aspects of Brunton Park is its traditional charm. It's a stadium that exudes character and history, standing as a testament to the club's deep roots in the community. The older architecture and design elements give it a unique and authentic feel, offering a departure from the more modern stadiums you often find today.
The views from the stands are excellent, ensuring that spectators have a great vantage point to watch the action on the pitch. The seating arrangements are comfortable, and the facilities are well-maintained, I would image they provide an enjoyable experience for fans.
In addition, the staff at Brunton Park were welcoming and hospitable, adding to the overall positive experience. The club's dedication to its fans is evident in the warm and friendly atmosphere they cultivate.
All in all, Brunton Park is a gem. Its rich history and traditional charm make it a must-visit for football enthusiasts. It's a place where you can truly connect with the essence of the sport and the pride of Carlisle United Football Club.
If the team were as good as the stewards they would be in the Premier League!
Visited with our two children and the stewards were so helpful getting us in and during our visit. The mascot was super friendly and was great with the kids, playing peek-a-boo! It's just a shame the first team couldn't match the same standard.
Proper old school ground. Feels like it's the 80s/90s. Nice enough staff and locals, too. Despite the usual 'Rough Cumbrian' stick. In a good place aswell with plenty of parking nearby. Fanzone was busy so gave it a miss but it looked good enough, it was also letting away fans in at the time, (vs bolton 27th January 24)
A great place to visit to watch football
Am giving a pre-match 5 stars as travelling up on Saturday from Bicester to watch Carlisle United v Oxford United. Looking forward to visiting as the ground seems to have a lot of character and atmosphere. COYY ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Access is good. Parking is available in the area and the Stewards are nice and helpful. It looks like it hasn't been worked on since it were build but it's not bad. Ladies toilets had no queue so that's good. The only downside is that it's always baltic there. Dress warm, rethink your outfit and dress warmer.
Proper old football ground can generate a good atmosphere, plenty of parking around the ground, some you might have to pay, 4th time I've travelled here and first time we've taken the 3points home so makes the 600 mile round trip worthwhile, happy days. 🏴☠️ UTG. …
Proper old school football ground. Have been before and l
always enjoyed the trip. Parking adjacent to the ground for just £3. Easy to get to from the motorway. Ground full of character and good for away fans.
They say that a camel is a horse, that has been designed by a committee, and as an infrequent visitor to Brunton Park, I have surveyed the surroundings, and wondered how many committees were involved in it's evolution?.. And I love it all the more for that!
Starting with the away end (if you're a big club, otherwise this is an unused wilderness), an inhospitable open terrace, apart from some seats, in the left hand corner, taped off, and completely unique to the Football League, as far as I'm aware.
Moving clockwise, we have the oddity of the "new stand", more than twenty five years old, which seems to have been designed for a bigger pitch, that has yet to arrive. Hence wise, it uniquely extends thirty yards beyond the byline.
Next is the home terrace, with it's unique triple gabled roof... Unique is a recurring theme here.
And finally the Main Stand, which appears to be at least three different stands, added onto the back of a pitch long terrace, where the friendliest of the locals congregate near the away end.
Totally unique, on all four sides, and we'll worth a visit
Good match, took a deserved lead considering the players we have out injured. Sorry but they didn't deserve an equalizer
